Resetting back to +0530

Couple of weeks back I heard that the President has announced about reverting back Sri Lankan time to +0530GMT from the 14th of April 2006. I'm already confused with the calculations about scheduling my time and read few articles on the newspaper regarding it where Arthur C Clark has urged to reconsider about it.
For a history lesson I remember the last time it was changed. The standard Sri Lankan clock was set to +0530 GMT was in effect till May 1996. The President at that time changed it and set the clock to +0630. I can't remember for how long it was in practise but not for long. Within a month I guess it was set to +0600. After almost ten years its gonna go back to its standard time and setting it back to +0530 will have a serious global effect on Sri Lanka.
I dunno from where I got the idea to store the offset in a configuration file of almost all PHP applications I developed in the last 4 years. The occasional changes might have helped me I guess ![[Wink]](http://www.nazly.net//smiles/icon_wink.gif){kind=icon}

You know why the time chanage gonna happen ???
The main reason is Parents have complained about their children cant goto school early morning..
1. I think if the children cant wake up early in the morning and cant goto school… huh! .. those brats doesnt deserve to be in the society.
2. I think the rule is you should stay 200m near by school.. If it is so.. they dont have to wake up early in the morning
3. Only place you can wake up 9:30 am and be there 10:00 is the parliment.
Any way you made a wise move to store the offset in a config file
I think +0600GMT must not change.. remeber we are 1/2 hour early than the india.

Thats really cool.. I even heard someone say that school kids will be able to see the Cricket Ball clearly in the morning. No bad light offerings to them. One thing I realised from your comment in that u have done your homework about schooling after the birth of your little princess
