SAF Games 2006

SAF Games 2006 is being currently happening in Sri Lanka. Yesterday was the opening ceremony which was held at the Sugathadasa Stadium. Was googling to find the schedules of the events and found this website www.tomorrowsrilanka.com. I guess it is the official website for the SAF Games 2006. Planning to go for the Swimming events which starts today at the Sugathadasa Indoor Stadium Swimming Pool to reawaken my past. I miss the days I used to swim in that pool during 1993-1994. I was around 13 then and was trained under late Mr.Rizvy Zain. Unfortunately had to give up my five years swimming career due to problems I came across in my right ear which seems to be giving problems still.

Hi, Thought of dropping a message because I saw Mr.Zain's name. I think I was one of the last swimmers he trained, I was under him for about two months at most when he passed away. But he will be one of those people I'll never forget.
I'm also going for the swimming events today. Hope Mayumi Raheem wins something, apparently she is our best bet at a gold medal.

yeah he is such a person that even I can't forget. I was coached under him for a good 3-4 years. But I was too small I guess at that time to really know him well. My bad I had to quit swimming and the worst was that I didn't even keep track of whats happening to Sri Lankan Swimming. So lot to recall today and hopefully we can get some gold in our hands.

I just came after the events today. The Indian swimmers had more gas but Mayumi did win the Gold in the 100M Breaststroke and Silver in the 50M Freestyle.

As I said I have been out of track about Sri Lankan Swimming for a long time. So I can't answer your question. May be sach can if she spots this..
